President

Visalia County Center Rotary Club

Hello, my name is Kris Lareau.

Welcome to Rotary where this year our theme is to Create Hope in the World.

I am privileged to be this year's president for Visalia County Center Rotary. Our club is one of the 46,000 Rotary clubs in over 200 countries around the world. The Rotary global network is made up of 1.4 million business and professional leaders who give their time, talents, and resources to serve their communities around the world.

As a service organization, Rotary has sought to problem solve in local communities, both nationally and internationally, by utilizing their passion, energy, and intelligence to act on sustainable projects for over 118 years. The mission of Rotary is to serve others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business professionals and community leaders.

I joined Rotary in February 2015 shortly after starting a business. One of my goals of was to get more involved and connected within the community. Knowing only that Rotary was a service club, I was grateful to receive an invitation from one of my clients. My first meeting at Visalia County Center Rotary was welcoming and engaging with people, like me, who sought to serve others. Bonus, they like having fun! I was hooked.  As I have become more involved over the last nine years I continue to learn and appreciate the generosity and support that each member of Rotary pours into both the local & international community while caring for one another as dear friends and family.

This year, while looking forward to our future we will look back to Rotary’s history. A powerful vision that was cast in 1905 has grown over the years to address global needs of people in our backyards and across many nations. From providing basic needs to those most impacted by natural disasters or manmade conflicts, to pioneering multiyear fights to rid the world of polio the job of Rotarians has not diminished. We will celebrate where we have been and strive to put “Service Above Self” for the generations to come. It is an honor to serve with the Rotary community, young and old, to impact communities with resources where they are most needed.

Come join us and multiply your impact by sharing hope and changing the world one person at a time.
